Bataan youths and IPs benefit from DTI’s livelihood programs

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI Bataan) on Monday provided business kits from the agency’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program to 15 young entrepreneurs (YEP).

The awarding and distribution of small tools for food processing was led by DTI Bataan Provincial Director Nelin O. Cabahug, Division Chief Ma. Concepcion B. Sanico, with the BDD team and colleagues Dr. Hermigenes Paguia, Vice President of Extension Services and Dr. Bernadette Gabor, Director of Extension and Training Services of BPSU.

The said event was held at the conference room of the administration building of the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Main Campus in Balanga City, Bataan.

Meanwhile, the DTI group also provided livelihood packages to 15 indigenous Aetas of Barangay Bayan-bayanan in the Municipality of Dinalupihan.

Dinalupihan Mayor and incoming Representative of Bataan 3rd District, Maria Angela S. “Gila” Garcia, Kapital Jose M. Salonga and TESDA Administrative Officer Catherine M. Cornejo attended the awarding and delivered inspiring messages.


The Aetas learned their skills in Bread and Pastries Production NC 2 thru TESDA. They are the beneficiaries of the government’s Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) program.

Cabahug said its purpose is to provide income to raise the standard of living of each family. All PPG beneficiaries attended the Seminar on How to Start a Small Business at the DTI Business Centers.
